I'm titling this post to foreshadow my hopes for the next couple of days :) The only news I have to post is that Dewey will be arriving by May 1st--hopefully sooner! I'm scheduled to be induced on April 30th at 7:30 in the morning. The doctors don't think it will be a long process as I'm already showing signs of progress, and just want to move this along so they don't take the risk of something going haywire with my blood pressure. I had my last appointment today and Dewey is 100% healthy according to the non-stress test. He/she must also be 100% happy in there and taking his/her time to appear. So, say a prayer Thursday morning, or NOW, that things will get moving! We'll keep you posted!

Lovely Ladies, the Nursery, and a Pool!
This past weekend I got to go to the Outer Banks with some of my favorite girls in the world! Our high school girls retreat was at a house in Kill Devil Hills, and we had so much fun. Dewey even behaved and stayed put throughout the weekend. I think everyone was a little on edge that he/she might decide to appear early and make the weekend even more memorable. We had great weather, spent some time on the beach, and had a lot of insightful conversations. I learn so much from these girls every time I get to spend time with them.
Here's the whole group after dinner Saturday night.
We're pretty much done with the nursery. It was a multi-phase process. My parents painted the background color when they were in town in February, and then Kevin and I added the tree a few weeks later. Then came the vine at the top and we've just recently added the furniture and other little decorations. We really like it, and hope Dewey does too!
The last thing we have to do is hang these pictures up. We were so blessed by Joe and Maggie Caldwell. They gave us this beautiful nursery furniture. They have two boys, and are done having kids, and graciously passed on the crib and changing table (along with many other toys) to us. We are so grateful!!!
Some of you have asked if we're going to start a baby pool. We found a site online that will host it, so here's the link. Play along if you'd like! We decided to do one without money because so many people from so many different places want to be involved. However, if you would like to put a wager on it among your friends, by all means go for it!

Almost There!
We're getting closer and closer to meeting Dewey and we can't wait! Since my last post, we've had a family shower, finished the nursery, and I've had many doctor's appointments--all of which have gone well. Yesterday we had an ultrasound and learned that Dewey is now weighing in at 6 lbs. 4 oz.--not quite as big as they thought last time. That leads me to believe they don't really know, and we will end up with whatever size baby we get! I have another appointment Friday, but we've pretty much been told, get your stuff together, it could happen at any time. So far, my blood pressure has stayed normal, so hopefully we won't have to go the induction route.
These are the pictures from the last 3D ultrasound. Kevin laughs because every time we've had an ultrasound the sonographer says the same thing: "Would you humor me, your baby is in a great position to have a 3D picture taken. We don't do this for everyone, because it takes longer and can just open a can of worms. So if anyone sees these just say we were looking at new software." So, either Dewey is always in a good position, or she just wants us to feel special. Kevin continued to elbow me throughout the whole speech this time, and it was all I could do not to start laughing as she continued to talk.
We were really surprised at how chubby Dewey's face has gotten since the last ultrasound 3 weeks ago.
Kevin's Aunt Kathleen and Aunt Judy threw a shower at Aunt Judy's house at the end of March. Kevin's brother Patrick and his wife Tricia made the trip for the shower, and we got to meet our niece Anne Louise!! My Mom, Grandma, Aunts, and cousins were also able to come in and we had a blast. The shower was great and we received many wonderful gifts. We are very blessed in so many ways.
A cute onesie from Kathy, Scott, Jake, Bekah, Leah, and Hannah.
It was a fun weekend to spend with family, and we're so grateful they all could come in town. My Mom and Grandma definitely got much more than they bargained for when I came down with the stomach flu very early Sunday morning. They were wonderful and made homemade soup and tapioca pudding to nurse me back to health (I ate it for many days afterwards), and luckily no one else caught the bug. It was a rough couple of days. I was very grateful to have them here, and I know Kevin was probably thrilled to not have one more thing to take care of.
Aunt Beth, Amy, and Julie weren't able to come down but they sent the cutest gifts! A clothesline full of baby items, a wreath made of diapers, pacifiers, and toys, and a backpack carrier that I know Kev and I will use a ton.
Tasty and beautiful baby bootie petit fours.
I'm struggling getting pictures on here, so I'm going to make another post with the nursery pics. Thanks for reading!!
